What is this book about?
Rita Hanas’ life in Albania is perfect until her mother dies. The only person she has left is her boyfriend, Samuel, who promises Rita a new life in London once he’s settled there as a student. Samuel is a dreamer – but Rita is a realist. She knows that for people like her, the UK is a forbidden utopia only accessible via a fake visa or by smuggling herself on the back of a lorry.

When, months later, Samuel’s social media accounts disappear and his telephone number ceases to exist, Rita decides their love is worth risking her life for. As she flees her country and starts her journey across Europe the last person she expects to meet is Andrew, an Englishman who is about to change her life. But not necessarily for the better.
