Helen Armstrong is a designer and an educator based in Raleigh, North Carolina. She has an MA in English literature, an MA in publications design, and an MFA in graphic design and is currently an Associate Professor of Graphic Design at North Carolina State University. In addition to teaching, Armstrong also works as principal and creative director of her company, Strong Design. Her work has been included in numerous publications in the United States and the United Kingdom, including The Complete Typographer, The Typography Workbook, and Design Elements. Her books include, Graphic Design Theory: Readings from the Field (2009), Participate: Designing with User-Generated Content , co-authored with Zvezdana Stojmirovic (2011), and Digital Design Theory: Readings from the Field (2016).
