Born in 1980, Kelly Goodner was born in Athens, Tennessee, but moved to West Palm Beach, Florida at the age of three. A gifted student, she attended an International Baccalaureate magnet program for high school, which allowed her to graduate with her BA in Film from the University of Central Florida in just two years.
She immediately began working in the entertainment industry and spent the next several years as a story consultant for several top talent agencies and production companies. Goodner then became a professional screenwriter, writing thrillers and romances for television.
She is now also writing, producing, and directing horror and thriller films for other markets, and she is the sole author of the Sceneclopedia series of filmmaking reference books. Goodner learned how to write screenplays by listing out the scenes of dozens of films for herself to study, and found them to be such an effective tool that she published them for others to use as well. She lives in Los Angeles with a Pitbull, two cats, and a man.
