Robin Westen is a freelance journalist who writes for numerous national women’s magazines including AARP, Family Circle, Psychology Today, Self, Parents, Glamour, Cosmopolitan, and others. She specializes in health, relationships, sex issues and parenting. Westen has authored 18 books including 808 Conversation Starters, Heal Your Gut with Bone Broth, Getting Your Child to Eat (Almost)Anything, co-authored with Qian Yuan, M.D. as well as V IS FOR VAGINA: Your A-Z Guide co-authored with Alyssa Dweck, M.D.,The Yoga Body Cleanse, The 2-Day Superfood Cleanse and the bestselling YA biography of Oprah Winfrey, I Don’t Believe In Failure, as well as Oprah Winfrey: A Biography of a Billionaire Talk Show Host and as a contributing writer in the anthology, Mr.Wrong: Real Life Tales of the Men We Used to Love. She was an Emmy-Award winning writer for the ABC Television women’s health-oriented show FYI, a sex advice columnist (Sex Rx) for Woman’s Own Magazine; she also wrote a weekly pop psychology quiz for Woman’s World Magazine for over 18 years. She has appeared on numerous websites including PEOPLE, Huffington Post, AARP, Thirdage, Parents, etc. Westen is a member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors and the Writers Guild of America. She lives in DUMBO, Brooklyn, and summers in Brattleboro, Vermont, with her friends and family.
Alyssa Dweck, MS, MD, FACOG, is a practicing gynecologist at the CareMount Medical in Westchester County, New York. She provides care to women of all ages; she has delivered thousands of babies. A graduate of Barnard College, she has a Masters Degree in Human Nutrition from Columbia University and her Medical Degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, now named Drexel University. Dr. Dweck trained at Lankenau Medical Center Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, where she was Chief Resident in 1994.
Dr. Dweck practices in Mount Kisco, NY and Carmel, NY and admits to Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco, NY. She has been voted “Top Doctor” in New York Magazine and in Westchester County.
She is proficient in minimally invasive surgery including robotic surgery. She has a special interest and expertise in female sexual health and medical sex therapy. She is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Science at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and a consultant at Massachusetts General Hospital, Vincents Memorial Ob/Gyn Service. She has served on the board of directors of the CareMount Medical in addition to ethics, quality assurance, and peer review committees. She is on the medical advisory board of Hope’s Door, a shelter from Domestic Violence and is a medical consultant for, Stepup-Speakout.org, a web community dedicated to resources and support for breast cancer related lymphedema. Dr. Dweck has co-authored three books: The Complete A to Z for your V, The Sexual Spark, and V Is for Vagina.
